Paid Summer Internships

The College Student Health Internship Program (CSHIP) is a paid, 100-hour summer internship for college students interested in exploring non-clinical careers in health. Interns are matched with Vermont-based community health organizations to complete real-world projects that address local health needs—from outreach and education to data analysis and program design. With a mix of in-person and remote work, plus 20 hours of self-paced learning on health equity and rural health systems, CSHIP offers students hands-on experience, professional growth, and a chance to make a meaningful impact in their own communities.

Community Projects

These two-week, community-immersion projects are available to graduate students in health professions programs. Northern Vermont AHEC coordinates the project supports, and connects students’ interest with real community problems that can benefit from the students’ work. Topics vary from year to year.

Be a Mentor

You can make a big impact on younger students interested in science and health care as a mentor or an instructor in one of our health careers exploration programs. Introduce life sciences and health careers to middle and high school students at MedTrek or MedQuest.  Support high school students in the Burlington and Winooski communities to excel in science and math. Apply your knowledge and interests to inspire others. Paid and unpaid opportunities available. Contact us for more information, or watch this page for applications.
