Inspire the Next Generation of Healthcare Leaders! Northern Vermont AHEC creates meaningful opportunities for college students and health professions trainees to mentor and teach younger students who are exploring futures in healthcare and health science. Through immersive, hands-on programs, participants develop leadership and teaching skills while helping inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals.

PAID SUMMER TEACHING OPPORTUNITY NOW OPEN! 
Northern Vermont AHEC is seeking graduate students in health-related programs of study with an interest in teaching and mentorship to be part of an interprofessional instructor team working with high school students during the Governor’s Health & Medicine Institute being held on the University of Vermont campus from Sunday, July 12 through Saturday July 18.
This project includes an AHEC Scholars training Leading Learning Teams (40 hours of virtual, in-person, and independent learning) and 60 hours of field work as an instructor at the Governor’s Health & Medicine Institute.  The total commitment is 100 hours.

Compensation for Instructors is $2,000.

PAID SUMMER EXPERIENCE FOR GRAD STUDENTS & UNDERGRADS 
The Governor’s Institutes of Vermont is hiring Resident Advisors for the Governor’s Health & Medicine Institute. This is an intensive short-term role. The stipend is $1200.
Resident Advisors work directly with students and work as a team to create a safe, inclusive learning community for the students at GIV. They:
  • Live on campus with students
  • Serve as a positive role model
  • Help students navigate new experiences
  • Foster a community spirit among the entire cohort
Interest or study in a health field is a plus, but not a requirement.
