Professionals
In partnership with the UVM Larner College of Medicine AHEC Program office, we support health care professionals in northern and central Vermont through a variety of programs including education loan repayment, support for preceptors and clinical instructors, and continuing professional education.
Loan Repayment
The Vermont Educational Loan Repayment for Health Care Professionals, established by the Vermont General Assembly, is to help ensure a stable supply of primary care providers to meet the health care needs of Vermonters. This program is administered by AHEC.
Recruitment
The AHEC Physician Placement services include: letting residents/fellows know where the physician openings are in their specialty, connecting them to the appropriate contact for the opening, and letting them know about national and state educational loan repayment opportunities for primary care positions. These services are available both during training, as well as after physicians have left the University and have transitioned to practice.
Precepting and Instructing
If you are a primary care practitioner in northern Vermont and would like more information on becoming a preceptor, please contact us. Or, if you are interested in working with younger students, AHEC sponsors health science enrichment programs year round to inspire students in your community. Find out how to get involved!
