Scrub Up and Join Us!

The world of healthcare is exploding with life-saving and medical advances. Step into this critically important field and dive deep into hands-on medical and health applications ranging from suture and dissection to detecting large-scale disease patterns. You’ll experiment with patient care and diagnostics, lead your own laboratory work, and be mentored by health professionals and current nursing and medical students.

This year, participants will select their learning strands from these three exciting possibilities:

  • Surgery and Hospital-Based Medicine  – Practice real clinical skills with simulated patients, learn how to suture, and use real surgical tools to practice laparoscopic surgery skills.
  • Emergency and Sports Medicine – Learn the fundamentals of pre-hospital care on the sports field and in the community, receive certification training in First Aid and CPR, and practice medical skills during scenario-based activities.
  • Neuroscience and Psychology – Learn neuroanatomy from actual brain specimens and practice techniques for diagnosing medical mysteries of the brain and behavior.  Learn how psychological stress creates conditions for long-term health or disease.
