The 2025 Governor’s Health & Medicine Institute, Northis seeking dedicated Resident Assistants (RAs) to help shape an unforgettable experience for high school students exploring the world of healthcare.
Location: Vermont State University – Lyndon Campus
Dates: July 5–12, 2025
Compensation: $1,000 + Free Meals & Housing
What You’ll Do as an RA:
As an RA, you’ll be at the heart of the student experience—guiding, supporting, and leading a group of high schoolers during their weeklong residential program. Your job is to help create a welcoming, safe, and inspiring environment where students can explore health careers, experience college life, and grow personally and academically.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead evening and daytime team-building and social activities
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and fun dorm environment
- Support students emotionally and help mediate conflicts
- Enforce program policies with kindness and fairness
- Serve as a liaison between students and staff
- Assist in emergency situations following protocols
- Be a positive, enthusiastic role model
What We’re Looking For:
We want individuals who are mature, responsible, and passionate about youth development and healthcare. Ideal candidates are confident leaders, clear communicators, flexible team players, and energetic problem-solvers.
You must be:
- Available for mandatory virtual pre-orientation
- On-site for training starting Saturday, July 5
- Able to work overnight shifts (5 PM to 9 AM) with rotating on-call duties
- Willing to complete Vermont’s online Mandated Reporter Training before arrival
