Hyde Park, VT — Northern Vermont Area Health Education Center (AHEC) is proud to announce its Spring 2025 Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Hybrid Course—a vital opportunity for individuals ready to step into the life-saving field of emergency medical services (EMS). This comprehensive program not only equips students with essential skills but also addresses critical workforce shortages affecting Vermont’s EMS system.

Across Vermont, the demand for EMS services has surged, while the number of EMS providers has steadily declined. Workforce development has been identified as one of the greatest challenges in stabilizing the state’s EMS services. By offering this innovative EMT course, Northern Vermont AHEC is directly addressing this challenge, preparing the next generation of responders to meet the growing needs of their communities.

The course blends the convenience of online learning with immersive hands-on training, ensuring students are both confident and competent in high-stakes situations. Starting March 24, 2025, participants will embark on a journey that combines rigorous education with real-world application.

Program Highlights:

  • Interactive Live Zoom Sessions: Engage with experienced instructors every Monday evening (5:30 PM–8:30 PM).
  • Skill-Building Labs: Master critical techniques during in-person clinical training days at the Green Mountain Technology and Career Center in Hyde Park.
  • Comprehensive Curriculum: Learn to assess and manage medical and trauma emergencies, understand anatomy and physiology, and prepare for real-world EMS operations.
